Divine Comedy
That time of the year when both Latona’s twins
One covered by the Ram, one by the Scales
Have made of one horizon both their zones,
From that point when they are held in perfect poise
Until they are liberated from the girdle,
And both, unbalanced, change their hemispheres,
So long, and with a smile upon her face,
Beatrice was silent, while she kept on looking
Upon the Point that overwhelmed my eyes.

Or in one sentence “Beatrice looked up a moment in silence.”
Latona’s twins: Apollo ( the Sun) and Diana (the Moon) ,
that time of the year -at the equinox; when the sun is in the sign of Aries and the moon in the sign of Libra; for a very brief moment they are lined up in the horizon; then one goes up and one goes down.
So long- In this brief time- Beatrice was silent and she looks up to the POINT- which is the Light representing God.
Because now, she is going to speak about Creation.
Creation also happened in a very brief moment in time- the Big Bang.
“Was there a beginning of Time?
Was there a beginning of Universe?”
These were the big questions of the middle ages. It seems Dante is of the same view of scientists of our era. Yes there was a beginning of time and there was a beginning of the Universe and it was the same moment- time didn’t exist before the Universe came to being.
And as a poet, he describes that point in time, with the intervals of the speech. Those nano seconds between the words, between the syllables and at the commas and points that creates intervals within or the end of the sentences.
There will be full moon at the spring equinox-Look up the sky if you can see the sun and the moon at the same time in the horizon.
